The RIOS Pizza lunches usually start Friday at 12:00 noon, in Room 208 of Building 2. The first few minutes are usually filled with pizza consumption, with the talk proper starting about 12:05-12:10. Talks typically run from 30 to 50 minutes in length. (If you need detailed directions, here are the directions; for trip planning purposes, here is local weather information.)
Typical RIOS Pizza Lunch audiences consist of astronomers and astrophysicists studying phenomena in the radio and infrared (and occassionally X-ray and gamma-ray) portions of the electromagnetic spectrum, oceanographers, and other scientists from remote-sensing (of the Earth) disciplines.
Pizza costs $2.00/slice. You're pretty much on your own for drinks, but you are welcome to use the soda/juice machines in the building. We also graciously supply all the drinking water you desire, free of charge.
Pizza-vores should (please!) tell us how many pieces of pizza you want so we can order the correct amount. If you would like to read about pizza etiquette, please look here.
There is an email mailing list for reminders about the talk series. [Subscribe and Unsubscribe information]
