¡Bienvenidos! Welcome to the home page of M. Montes. You can find some of my scientific papers.

I'm a member of the Optical Sensing Section of the Radio/IR/Optical Sensors Branch in the Remote Sensing Division of the Ocean and Atmospheric Science and Technology Directorate at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. I'm involved in projects for developing atmospheric corrections and modeling the water-leaving radiance, mostly for observation of the coastal region by hyperspectral (imaging spectrometers) instruments such as PHILLS, AVIRIS, and Hyperion.

I was formerly in the Space and Information Systems Section (same Branch, Division, Directorate, and Lab as above!). While I was there, I studied radio supernovae with Dr. Weiler (also of NRL).
